What is the difference between finishes?
You will see me refer to finishes as "Classic Edit" "Fine Art Edit" and "Fairytale and Fantasy or Composite Edits"... but what does that actually mean?
I hope this will clear that up for you.
Classic Editing
This is where I will manage the highlights and shadows, colour correction, remove background items if they affect the presentation of an image, and small corrections where they would otherwise negatively impact the final image.
Fine Art Finishing
Fine Art is anything that removes the traditional look of a photograph. This can be the layering of other textures or components on top of the image or altering the colours and tonality to that of an artistic rendition of the actual as shot image. These images typically take a great deal of time to create as they involve dozens or artistic layers being blended into the original photo.
Fairytale and Fantasy Composite
This is the ultimate in design, concept art and execution. The photo as shot will seldom appear in its original state once the piece is complete. Artistic additions are added strategically to the canvas and once finished it no longer presents as a traditional photograph. These pieces can take days to make and are planned to incorporate your vision or designed to tell the story which you want to tell.
